5 Genius Ways To Find A Holiday Date This Season

5 Genius Ways To Find A Holiday Date This Season, from an Elite Matchmaking Service

2017 is coming to a close. During the hustle and bustle of December, many of us are busy putting together family gatherings and picking out the perfect gifts for loved ones. The holiday season also brings about all things love and cozy. If you’re the single one yet again amongst your family and friends (first, don’t worry about it. Being single has its benefits!) don’t throw in the towel just yet! Fretting about whether you’ll have a holiday date this year doesn’t help. I sat down with Lead Matchmaker Erica Arrechea of Cinqe.com and she offered some great tips for holiday dating this season.

  1. Ask Your Friends To Take You To Their Holiday Work Party: Holiday parties are a great way to connect with new people and, maybe because their season-based, they don’t seem to be as stressful as regular parties. Play a game or two, chat with a few people and just focus on having a good time.
  2. Charities & Holiday Fundraiser: What better way to volunteer for a good cause and be social than signing up to raise money for a local charity or fundraiser? Ask around among your friend circle or sign up at VolunteerMatch.org to find fundraisers near you.
  3. Work-Out Activities: Don’t let the weather outside deter you. Participating in exercise activities such as soccer, soul cycle, or even CrossFit classes could lead you into accidentally bumping into that cute stranger. A few of my close friends have met their significant other at a CrossFit class, so the odds are in your favor.
  4. Set Up Your Own Events: Don’t wait for your friends to invite you to a get-together. Take it upon yourself to plan a small event (let’s say inviting a group of your friends to one of your favorite brunch spots). Ask everyone to bring along at least one friend who the group hasn’t met. Something as simple as that could lead to new connections and a good time.
  5. Farmer’s Market: Primarily in SoCal, Farmer’s Markets are a non-stop social spot that is full of people year round. Instant romance may not be what you think of when you go to pick up strawberries, though the opportunity of running into an old college friend or locking eyes with that hot guy picking up some avocados does sound promising.

Dating during the holiday season doesn’t have to be stressful! Try using some of these tips in your own dating life. Be open to trying new activities, meeting new people and most importantly, enjoying yourself.
